Job Search With oDesk and Facebook

odesk logooDesk is already a fantastic tool for freelancers and web workers, but today they’re getting even more useful. The site that connects buyers (service seekers) with providers (freelancers) is now utilizing Facebook Connect to add social utility to the work force.

With Facebook Connect, oDesk buyers and providers can now share their job-related activity on oDesk with their Facebook friends, essentially extending the reach and distribution of available job opportunities and spreading the word about their professional expertise.

The Facebook integration will allow oDesk buyers to share any and all job openings from the site. This may sound pretty basic, but having the option to publish newly posted jobs should certainly help reach prospective candidates and aide in the social recruitment process.

Users can also post profile updates and oDesk test results to Facebook, which could prove to be very valuable for job seekers looking to get the word out about their expertise and professional savvy. Should you score well on any of oDesk’s job and subject matter tests, not only will you become a certified expert on the site, but you’ll also be able to share that news with your friends and business connections.

In all, oDesk is another smart implementation of Facebook Connect that should be useful for freelancers and those looking to hire them.

  • The ad in the "wanted" section of my newspaper stated that someone was looking for all party games in order to plan a big party festival. It seems that this organization was going to put on a charity event featuring all party games with attractive prizes.
