Lenovo U450p 14” CULV Notebook Is Coming
If you’ve been looking to try out a CULV this Fall, you might not need to look any further than Lenovo’s new IdeaPad line of CULV notebooks. So far the only model out is the U350, a 13.3” machine that comes with a variety of processor options and an integrated optical drive. If you’re looking for something a little bigger though, Lenovo’s just started to advertise their 14” U450p.
We don’t know anything other than size about the U450p, but there are a few things we can make an educated guess about thanks to its little brother. The U350 comes with your choice of either a 1.2 Ghz Celeron processor, a 1.3 Ghz Pentium dual-core, or a 1.4 Ghz Core 2 Solo. Processor options will more than likely be the same for both machines.
The U350 comes stock with a 4 cell battery, although you can upgrade to an 8 cell one that Lenovo claims gives the CULV ten hours of battery life. That’ll likely go down a bit for the U450p due to the extra monitor size.
I really like what Lenovo’s doing to the CULV line-up. They’re bringing in machines that actually have a solid bit of horsepower behind them, and giving customers room to customize. The U350 itself can range from 1 to 8 GB of RAM, and possible hard drive sizes of 250, 320, and 500 GB. If the U450p proves to be as scalable, I might just end up buying one myself.

The PS3 Slim launched on September 02
The PS3 Slim launched on September 02, to 299 euros?
Worry, this is not official and is part of yet another hallway noise. A blog on the PS3 nebulous claims that “many dealers have blown as the PS3 Slim released on 02 September at a price of 299 euros.”
What is certain is that at least one of the two rumors is false (or both): the first refers to the announcement of the fall in the selling price of the PS3 at the Tokyo Games Show in late September, the second we said flatly that the PS3 Slim will be launched on September 2 to 299 euros.
Nevertheless, Sony has already announced a major press conference during the Gamescom of Cologne on 18 August.
The mere existence of the PS3 Slim has so far been revealed by the photos and videos frankly doubtful, and by “noise corridor” of so-called sources close to Sony but still anonymous.
So take this news for what it is: a rumor of more hypothetical.
