Lenovo U450p 14” CULV Notebook Is Coming

Lenovo U450p 14” CULV Notebook Is Coming

If you’ve been looking to try out a CULV this Fall, you might not need to look any further than Lenovo’s new IdeaPad line of CULV notebooks. So far the only model out is the U350, a 13.3” machine that comes with a variety of processor options and an integrated optical drive. If you’re looking for something a little bigger though, Lenovo’s just started to advertise their 14” U450p.

We don’t know anything other than size about the U450p, but there are a few things we can make an educated guess about thanks to its little brother. The U350 comes with your choice of either a 1.2 Ghz Celeron processor, a 1.3 Ghz Pentium dual-core, or a 1.4 Ghz Core 2 Solo. Processor options will more than likely be the same for both machines.

The U350 comes stock with a 4 cell battery, although you can upgrade to an 8 cell one that Lenovo claims gives the CULV ten hours of battery life. That’ll likely go down a bit for the U450p due to the extra monitor size.

I really like what Lenovo’s doing to the CULV line-up. They’re bringing in machines that actually have a solid bit of horsepower behind them, and giving customers room to customize. The U350 itself can range from 1 to 8 GB of RAM, and possible hard drive sizes of 250, 320, and 500 GB. If the U450p proves to be as scalable, I might just end up buying one myself.

Fire up that chainsaw, zombie demons have invaded the iPhone.

Doom Resurrection for iPhone

Yes, thanks to a collaboration between Id Software and Escalation Studios, the gun-toting carnage of Doom has arrived for your iPhone or iPod touch, or at least a spiritual port of Doom 3 for the iPhone. While not as graphically complex as its computer cousin, the developers cleverly use the tools available to them to make a Doom game that takes advantage of the iPhone’s controls and gives a whole new generation of players the opportunity to play the iconic series. • The ad in the "wanted" section of my newspaper stated that someone was looking for all party games in order to plan a big party festival. It seems that this organization was going to put on a charity event featuring all party games with attractive prizes.
